Our commitment

Diverse Routes Pty Ltd delivers training in skills where the consequences of getting it wrong are serious — working at heights, confined spaces, breathing apparatus, emergency response and vehicle operation. We hold a simple position: the way we run our own business must meet the standard we teach.

Diverse Routes Pty Ltd, as a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld), is committed to:

• providing and maintaining a working and learning environment where risks to health and safety are eliminated where practicable, and otherwise minimised so far as is reasonably practicable;
• meeting or exceeding the requirements of the WHS Act 2011 (Qld), WHS Regulation 2011 (Qld), and applicable codes of practice;
• protecting the health and safety of everyone our work affects — clients, students, host-site personnel and the public;
• consulting with clients, host PCBUs and learners on matters that affect their health and safety, and cooperating with the safety systems of every site we work on;
• identifying hazards, assessing risks and applying the hierarchy of controls before work starts — and stopping work when it can't be done safely;
• reporting, recording and investigating incidents honestly, and acting on what we learn;
• maintaining the currency of qualifications, equipment and insurance that this work depends on; and
• reviewing this policy and the safety management system it heads at least every two years, or sooner when our operations change.

Responsibility

The Managing Director is the officer of the PCBU and holds ultimate responsibility for health and safety, exercises due diligence under s.27 of the WHS Act, and is also — as the sole worker — responsible for carrying out every procedure in this system in person. When workers are engaged in future, this policy and the supporting system will be reviewed before they commence.
